His professional experiences span North and South America as well as various European countries, enriching his understanding of the global agrifood landscape.

In 2001, Jan transitioned into law, bringing his wealth of experience into the legal arena. After honing his skills at a prestigious law firm, he boldly launched his own practice, dedicated exclusively to the agrifood sector. This unique blend of legal acumen and agrifood industry knowledge allows Jan to deliver unparalleled service to his clients, ensuring their needs are met with precision and insight.

Jan has been admitted to the Amsterdam Bar. He is fluent in English and Spanish, as well as his native Dutch, and speaks some German. He lives with his family in the Netherlands and is an avid long-distance runner.

Jan van de Ven has registered contract law as principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
